Established by Mark Wahlstrom in 1981 and in continous professional practice since 1982, Wahlstrom & Associates was among the professional pioneers in the growth and establishment of structured settlements as a key tool in claims negotiation, personal financial planning for injury victims and resolving difficult personal injury claims.
More significantly, Mark Wahlstrom made a bold decision to transition the firm in 1985 to one of the very first "plaintiff only" structured settlement firms, on the personal conviction that injury victims, trial lawyers and others were not being well served and properly represented in those years when being faced with the decision to structure their clients injury settlement or to structure their legal fees. Mark's decision to represent plaintiffs helped to pioneer the plaintiff rights movement and establish the current rights of trial lawyers and injury victims to work with the settlement professional of their choosing, as opposed to being force to deal exclusively with defense brokers and insurance claims departments in this vitally important financial decision.
